New Delhi. Launching the report of Swachh Survekshan (Swachh Bharat Survey) at an event on Saturday, the Minister for Urban Development has introduced a provision under Swachh Bharat Schema that would keep Hostels and Messes of Engineering Colleges out of its radar, keeping their rich heritage of uncleanliness intact. The Swachh Bharat Andolan, which was started by PM Modi, is being considered as torture on engineering students as they have to undergo mental trauma whenever they are asked to clean themselves or their hostel rooms.

Any scope of Swachh Bharat here?

The Engineering Students Association of India (the most populated community in the world) has been fighting hard for the cause and has raised its voice several times as well, which is finally heard by the Ministry. The spokesperson of the ministry said, “We had surveyed different places where Swachh Bharat Mission was carried on. Places like public gardens, municipality offices, Sulabh Sauchalyas, etc. showed some signs of improvement but engineering colleges’ hostels and messes’ progress didn’t move even an inch. Hence we have decided to not to blow flute in front of buffaloes.”

Welcoming the decision, Bhangi Prasad, the President of Association said, “It’s a big relief for us. The last time we felt so happy was when one girl took admission in Mechanical Department in our college. We had advised the Ministry to increase the rates of Swachh Bharat Cess, we aren’t concerned about it much. But please don’t ask us to keep our rooms clean even after knowing that we bath once in seven days. Regarding the cleanliness at messes, we have the habit of eating rock strong chappatis and pani-wali dal. Taking the unhygienic taste away from our food would render it tasteless.”
