Ravi a fighter plane enthusiast’s dreams became reality when he was flown in Tejas, indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) by a Test Pilot.
Speaking to our correspondent, Ravi shared his flight experience like an ace pilot, “The aircraft is really good and has great power to thrust ratio, you do experience a fair amount of G-force but Tejas ecosystem helps you adapt easily.” Adding to this he thanked HAL for allowing the general public to experience flying in Tejas by paying mere 50 thousand rupees.
After the first flight opened for the general public the Program Director of HAL said in the press conference, “Couple of weeks ago when USAF General & French Air-force Chief of staff came on a courtesy visit, (for lobbying the sales of F-16 & Rafael) we gave them an opportunity to fly our bird Tejas. Both enjoyed the ride and said it was really fun to fly the Aircraft, but the idea of opening up to general public came into their mind when two months ago Defense Minister of Singapore spoke high about the aircraft after taking the flight”.
HAL Program Director boasted his mustaches and said “Being a civilian Singapore MoD enjoyed the ride of the aircraft and spoke high about Tejas, hence we thought this can be an opportunity to monetize and bring some extra funds.”
He added “although IAF and Indian Navy did not show much interest in the aircraft as they feel Tejas is not combat ready as of now and we need to put more flight hours, so we coined the idea of the joy ride with nominal fees. This will help us cloak the desired test flight hours and the fees collected from this venture will help us fund the program to next level till we get orders from IAF or Navy.”
Later today the news came out that response is hysterical with already 1 lakh people done with advance booking and they are expecting at least 12 lakh bookings in next 6-8 months which will fetch them a billion dollar revenue. In the history of HAL this will be the first time they will be generating such a huge revenue from a non-defense venture. To cater this huge response HAL has plans to add a couple of more Tejas for joy rides.
Reacting to this news Achambhit Fatra the ruling party spokesman, “I feel proud that policies of Modiji`s Make In India have started showing its success, is there any country in the world which has ever done this for general public, what Congress could not do in their 60 years rule has happened in Modiji`s under 60 months government.”
However, this news was not well taken by the Left and Congress but it seems Pakistan has taken up this seriously and begun the similar program for the general public to fund the radical outfits by flying indigenously (Chinese) build “JF-17 thunder” with a tagline “The Pak Wonder-Fly-a Thunder.”
