New Delhi: In a major boost to businesses, finance minister Arun Jaitley introduced a circumstantial tax to be levied on top of GST, which would be applicable only when customers start bargaining.
Speaking to Faking News, Mr. Jaitley said, “BT (Bargaining Tax) will definitely be a sigh of relief for all those upset traders and businesses who were demanding GST tax percentage to be changed from 28 to 18. BT will be a circumstantial tax, and would be immediately applicable on first evidence of bargaining by the customer. Before a customer can become a consumer of the product, he will have one more tax bridge to cross. Proud to have introduced one more tax.”
When asked whether why he is making public life difficult, he said, “Who said I’m making their life difficult? In fact, my tax complexity is going to make them avoid any questions. Forget questions, they are going to avoid thinking about tax itself.”
A lot of people had reportedly gathered at Jantar Mantar to protest against increasing taxes on common man. However, all of them vanished as rumors that government might start imposing andolan tax started making rounds on the ground.
Meanwhile, a lot of intellectuals have already started calling him Arun Taxley after getting impressed with his tax prowess, while some awardees are still weighing the advantages and disadvantages of returning their awards.
