Similar promises in Karnataka polls

10, May 2018 By shakeel ahmad

When we compare as many as seven promises made by the BJP and the Congress these are very much similar. Both the competing parties assure the farmers of doubling their income if voted to power. It appears more a political gimmick.

Besides, free offer of the Smartphone to the youths just for capturing their votes is also mentioned in the Congress party manifesto though the Bhartiya Janata Party has pledged to make that valued electronic gadget available to the poor women.

As regards to employment, the Congress party has made assurance of one crore jobs in a period of five years while the BJP will provide employment through the Start-up programme.

As far as woman security is concerned the BJP comes with the exceptional promise of employing as many as 1000 women in the police force. How can the Congress lag behind in this particular sphere? It has given assurance of bringing improvement in this field by 33 percent.

The fast-approaching Karnataka assembly elections give the political leaders’ enthusiastic expectations of gaining power. The BJP, the Congress and the Janata Dal (S) are active on the political ground with its respective promises.

Undeniably the leaders have been possessing single aim of winning the seats. The election tempo gears up in the state with the BJP’s massive campaigning. It is leaving no chance of securing upper hand over other two equally important political parties in the election campaign. The hard-working politicians are now wholly concentrating on the votes.

Perhaps one BJP leader has insisted upon bringing the voters by fastening them to the polling booth. It might as well look like pursuance of a terrifying method.

Their speeches and public meetings were the real noise echoing all over the stretched constituencies with a total of 224. What we learn from their respective manifestoes was nothing clear.
