PV Sindhu’s Olympic medal has boosted the sports scenario in India. Boys and girls are willing to take up sports as a profession after watching the accolades gathered by Sindhu and her fellow Olympians.

Most of the coaching centres giving training to students for clearing Engineering and medical entrances are worried about their businesses. They have seen an all-time low levels of admission in their classes. Students are watching sporting events, following their sports idols and not concentrating on their studies.

This has become a major headache for the Indian parents as every parent wants their children to become an Engineer or a doctor just like Sharmaji’s son or daughter. They have even hired brainwashing professionals to clear out this Olympic dream from their children’s head. Engineering and medical colleges are also lowering their fees to accommodate more students and convincing them that no student will be failed in their colleges.

Though these measures will bring down the sports enthusiasm among the students, the enthusiasm will only reduce when India doesn’t win a medal at the next Olympics.

All we can do is just pray for the parents.
