Kolkata Knight Riders put up their worst bowling performance of IPL 2018 in the match against Mumbai Indians, where they conceded 210 runs. Fans were left upset with the result and the unexpected manner in which bowlers conceded runs. However, skipper Dinesh Karthik had all the answers in the post-match press conference.
“The team members wanted to earn some goCash for their post IPL holiday plans. So we decided to be gentle with the ball so that they could get some runs and help us accumulate some goCash.”, revealed Karthik. The match was also the first time KKR were bowled out in this year’s IPL. “Well you earn goCash even when MI gets wickets. So you know we wanted to make sure we can get the maximum possible”. When we reached out to coach Jacques Kallis and asked whether the loss could affect their chances in the IPL, Kallis replied “It’s not just about winning and losing. We also have to look at the other aspects. We have more matches lined up where we can earn points. But this was the only chances for the boys to earn goCash. So you have to take the bigger picture into consideration. The IPL is a difficult tournament. They boys will need a break after it ends. So they just to make some arrangements for that.”
Some aged KKR fans were seen protesting outside the team hotel after the match. As per reports, they were feature phone users and hence could not avail the benefits of earning goCash through the goibibo app. On being asked why they had not upgraded to smartphones, Mr. Banerjee, a former government employee, said, “Smartphones are a product of capitalism. We will never go for them.” Our reporter also confirmed that the feature phone they were using had all been manufactured in China, which they viewed as a friendly communist nation.
